6. Testing And Listening

GMXs offer a very regular response with a slightly louder treble from around 2 kHz. So, you can expect a "lighter" sound.

The bass is nice and regular, descending fairly low for a model using a loudspeaker of only medium dimensions. According to our measurements here, it produces very good results in general.

The maximum level possible is noticeably lower than that obtained from other systems that make the same claims. The reason seems to be a limitation on the level supplied by the subwoofer, which is perfectly audible when you increase the level: Klipsch may have used a limiter to prevent excessive enthusiasm by users ... But please don't be put off by that. If the GMX A-2.1 is not capable of attaining the same sound levels as some of its competitors, this limitation is not noticeable when listening to music, and you will find plenty to satisfy anyone with normal hearing.
