As our research revealed, the device is based on a barebone by the Taiwanese manufacturer Mitac. In the U.S., the notebook models 8350 from Sunrex and Hyperdata and the Aviator AX6 from Hypersonic are based on the same barebone.
While Sunrex, Hyperdata (model 8350) and Hypersonic (Aviator AX6) have only announced their models, VooddooPC's system (Envy M:855) is shipping.
With the Mobile Athlon64-3000+, the Q8M Power64 XD not only has a thoroughly modern processor, but with ATI's MR9600/64 MB, it now has a very fast DirectX 9-compatible graphics solutions and with the Momentus ST94011A from Seagate, a fast hard drive, too. The device is in fact more like a desktop: Including the battery, it weighs in at almost 4 kg (8.77 lbs) with the charger adding a further 0.74 kg (1.62 lbs).
