Playboy's Safe for Work Website is Without Boobs
How many guys actually claim to only read PlayBoy for the articles? Enough to warrant a 'safe for work' site without any of those pesky pictures, it seems.
So you're sitting down to read Playboy and once again, you find yourself irritated by all those pesky boobs getting in the way of the articles. Well, rejoice, for with the launch of thesmokingjacket.com, all the boobs and butts have been banished in favor of something a little more safe for work.
"Playboy’s TheSmokingJacket.com is the safe-for-work website that brings you everything you love about men's entertainment and the Internet, minus the stuff that'll get you into hot water at the office," reads the landing page for the soon to be launched Website.
CNN reports that the launch of the Website probably has something to do with the fact that Playboy Enterprises reported a net loss of $1 million in the first quarter of this year . According to CNN this was "actually better than what was predicted," and "the company reported a loss of $13.7 million during the same quarter last year."
The site is seen as part of Playboy's effort to reinvent itself and bring in more revenue.

Who needs Hefner, or Playboy? We have the Internet now. And we all know the Interwebs are built on top of Al Gore's porn collection. Now, the nooks and crannies of the Net are chock full o' Porn, ads, porn, Toms Hardware, and...oh yeah, porn.

Playboy is really softcore, I can't understand how they make money. But porn is way overdone these days anyway. Playboy some people will argue with me is "Art" well I lately prefer to just see women for who they are. I guess it comes with age and maturity. They'd make more money if they lowered the legal age to buy these to 16 though.
Also Hefner doesn't impress me a slight bit.
With all the free porn floating around on the internet, I'm surprised Playboy hasn't gone bust yet.

I block pictures when I surf at work, but IT still has access to your HTTP traffic. If they see anybody pulling pages from Playboy.com they won't check your browser settings before calling you in for a long talk about appropriate use of company resources.

Some like hard core, some just want to look at well done photos... sometimes we get both. Its a matter of taste and what you're in the mood for. You'll find some celebs who'll do playboy but never hardcore... so yes, Playboy has a place in the adult market place.
They are the original MENS magazine. MAXIM is the modernized version that is more hip - shorter articles (young people cant read much without brain failure) and no actual nudity - so they can be sold in places that Playboy can't (7-11, Barnes & Noble, Walmart and supermarkets, etc).
I'll admit thou... I've bought fare more MAXIM magazines in the past 7 years than playboy in 15... Maybe 1, I think vs dozen.
