Cool: Motion-controlled Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots
Clash of the Titans.
Living in a time when Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony are all competing in the motion-controlled gaming market, it's easy to forget that there was a time when simpler things ruled the toy chest. G.I. Joe, Tonka trucks and LEGO were staples, along with the likes of Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots.
Though these are timeless classics to a lot of us, it's no wonder most kids today have never even heard of Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots. Why would you want Rock 'em Sock 'em for Christmas when you can ask for an Xbox 360 instead? Zachery Shivers and Anne Flinchbaugh thought it was time they give Rock 'em Sock 'em a new lease of life. So, as part of a Texas Instruments design challenge, the two used four of Texas Instrument's Chronos watch to translate arm movements into robot punches and breathe life into a classic toy.
If you're so enamored with the project that you can no longer live without rocking and socking daily and nightly and ever so rightly, check out the TI Wiki on how to do it yourself.

You could have just said, "Ugh"... LOL - It's a cool "idea" but man, it's like there's mad scientists everywhere experimenting with all this useless crap! I guess that's how we advance though.

They should have used solenoids for the punching.
Not really impressed!
