Sex sells, I guess.
Go Daddy is known for its provocative Super Bowl commercials. If it's not the beautiful Danica Patrick, it's someone else wearing body paint. This year, the company went with Bar Rafaeli. More specifically, they went with supermodel Bar Rafaeli making out with Walter the Nerd (played by Jesse Heiman). The idea behind the ad was that Go Daddy had two sides, a sexy side (hey, Bar!) and a smart side ('sup, Walter?). Together, these two are a perfect match. The two then share a fairly intimate kiss that lasts for an extended period of time. It makes for some uncomfortable watching.
Love it or hate it, the ad got people talking. All over Twitter, folks were discussing this Go Daddy ad. Now, three days on, it seems Go Daddy has proof that the commercial worked as intended. According to the company, it had the best day of sales in its history the day after the Super Bowl. Speaking to Mashable, the company said it saw its biggest sales day in company history and provided the site with some stats to go along with its claims. GoDaddy reportedly added 10,000 new customers, with mobile customers increasing by 35 percent and dot-com domain sales rising by 40 percent. Hosting sales jumped by 45 percent.
That said, this jump in sales could be down to Go Daddy's other ad, which is actually quite good and makes a lot of sense. We included it in our top five favorite Super Bowl ads. You can watch it again below (along with the Bar/Jesse spot).

I'd be more concerned about boycotting them because of that SOPA crap.
Obviously I'm not the majority...
Nope, nerds do not give a.......!
Obviously I'm not the majority...
We United Statesians... Such prudes... ;-)
I'd be more concerned about boycotting them because of that SOPA crap.
I agree, forget the hot chicks you'll never get with anyway, remember their position on SOPA
there are so many better domain registrar and web servers than GoDaddy who rather spend money on advertisement than better service and equipments...
That junk is still around? I thought it had died the horrible death it deserves long ago.
Didn't realize GoDaddy supported it... yeah I'd say that's a bigger reason. Anyone in support of SOPA and other internet restriction policies can go screw themselves.
I don't respect advertisements that don't actually advertise their product and instead just try to attach sex or status or whatever to what they're selling.
GoDaddy also has a terrible customer support record. Look up the "NoDaddy" website.
Just sayin' ...
Nerds know better than to use GoDaddy.
Pretty girls do sell. Even if they are just kissing, or even if they are wearing a beautiful dress.
If this commercial showed the girl half naked in a bed with the guy, that would be more sexual. Kissing? That's a reach.
I personally found the commercial disgusting. I think that's where it was going. Shock/disgust to get a reaction. If this commercial was sexy to you, maybe you need a pill from a doctor.
