The first ever Tom's Guide Sleep Awards are coming — here's what you need to know

Welcome to the inaugural Tom’s Guide Sleep Awards 2025, where we’ll be celebrating the products that help you achieve your best sleep ever. We know that our sleep quality underpins our overall health, so we're excited to champion the products that can help us all rest better.

As a team we've tested the best mattresses of the year for all budgets and sleep styles, as well as scores of pillows, bed sheets, sleep tech and more. So we're well placed to highlight the products that can help you optimize your shut-eye.

We've carefully selected 26 key categories (scroll below for a sneak peak) across mattresses, bedding, pillows, sleep trackers and more, all with the potential of helping you achieve your best night’s sleep ever. We'll be announcing the winners during the second week of November, so stay tuned...

  • Best Memory Foam Mattress: Memory foam continues to be a favorite with many sleepers, and this award will go to the best-built memory foam mattress that offers exceptional comfort.
  • Best Hybrid Mattress: Hybrids combine the best features of foam and springs, and here we’ll recognize an outstanding hybrid that delivers the right balance of support and pressure relief for sleepers.
  • Best Luxury Mattress: For those who demand the very best, this award celebrates a luxurious bed that’s beautifully made with premium materials and innovative technology.
  • Best Organic Mattress: Mattress shoppers are increasingly eco-conscious, and here we identify the top option that’s made with completely organic materials and built for durability and restful sleep.
  • Best Affordable Mattress: For those who want quality without a big spend, this award will go to a brand that is offering an outstanding mattress at a mid-range price point.
  • Best Mattress under $1,000: There are many impressive mattresses available for less than $1,000 right now, and this award will pick out the very best.
  • Best Mattress under $300: Cheap doesn’t necessarily mean poor quality. Our winner will cost under $300, but still be an excellent mattress to sleep on.

  • Best Stomach Sleeper Mattress: This mattress will offer stomach sleepers the right amount of support to sleep comfortably.
  • Best Mattress for Back Pain: This award will go to the mattress that offers lumbar support to ease back pain.
  • Best Smart Bed: This bed will be the one that uses technology to elevate its customers’ sleep.

  • Best Sunrise Alarm Clock: This will be awarded to the clock that simulates the sunrise to help make waking up less traumatic.
  • Best Sleep Tracker: This award will go to the best app for tracking your sleep, with useful, user-friendly features to help you understand and improve your sleep.
