Black Friday came early at REI — save up to 50% on The North Face, Patagonia, Nike and more right now
Leading outdoor brands are offering up to 50% off jackets at REI right now.
If you’re planning to invest in a new outdoor jacket for the colder months, it’s worth doing your research and buying from a brand known for quality and performance. I say this from experience, because there’s nothing worse than getting caught in the cold and rain wearing the wrong layers.
The good news is that I’ve already done the research for you. REI’s early Black Friday sale is live right now, and there are some fantastic deals on top outdoor brands. I’ve hand-picked the jackets I’d buy myself. As someone who loves spending time outdoors in all weathers, I like to think I know a thing or two about what makes a good layer.
For example, the Patagonia Cord Fjord Down Coat in the perfect fall shade of brown is 30% off, saving you over $100. For my fellow runners, there’s also the Nike Repel UV Stride Jacket, a lightweight, rainproof layer that’s down from $125 to $86.
Those are just a couple of highlights, so stick with me to see all the best jacket deals happening at REI right now.

I love this simple layer from The North Face. It’s made from strong, durable materials that repel water and block out the wind. You can zip it right up to your chin and tighten the hem around your waist to hold in warmth. I think the pink color, called Cyber Berry, is really fun, but if you prefer something more understated, the latte shade is also on sale.

If you’re after a waterproof jacket that actually feels good to wear, this one’s worth a look. The Rab Arc Eco is made entirely from recycled polyester, so it’s kinder to the planet without cutting corners on performance. I love the wired hood, which will stay put when the wind picks up, and the pit zips are a lifesaver on tough uphill hikes when you start to overheat.
