The fastest car mount charger I've ever used is on sale right now — save $22
Cars are useful for many things. They help you go to fun places. They help you get to boring-but-necessary places like your job. They're kind of like a little sanctuary for some. A car can even be a place to wirelessly charge your phone with 25W of pure power. That is, if you have my personal favorite car mount charger, the Anker Prime MagSafe.
Right now you can get the Anker Prime MagSafe car mount charger for $67 at Amazon. That's 25 percent off, which will give you some extra gas money to get you places while you speed-charge your iPhone 16 or iPhone 17 (older iPhones can still party, but they only get 15W).
I always get excited when a product I genuinely enjoy using goes on sale, and that's the case with this Anker car mount. I threw my old, slow one away as soon as this arrived, and I haven't looked back. It's faster, keeps my phone cooler and locks onto the vent with a more secure system. I can't imagine what else you could want from a car mount and charger.
The need for speed
The biggest reason I love this car mount charger is the speed it offers. According to Anker, it can charge an iPhone 17 to 50% in 22 minutes. If you're out for a night on the town and your phone is on its last legs, you'll actually get a respectable amount of power by just throwing your phone on the strong magnet and letting it charge.
I have an iPhone 17 Pro Max (which might be the only piece of phone tech I love more than this car charger), so the larger battery means I didn't quite get to 50% in 22 minutes.
Still, in the drive from my house to my hockey rink, which is just under 30 minutes, I got just about 50%, which is fantastic for making up for the battery lost throughout the day while answering emails and researching news stories for Tom's Guide.
The Anker Prime mount also comes with cooling technology, enabling it to charge even more efficiently. MagSafe accessories tend to heat up — this is just something we've always dealt with and accepted as the tradeoff for going wireless.
Even while plugged into a 25W wireless charger, Anker promises your phone will stay below 89°F during charging. I don't have the technolgy on hand to test that, but I can say that even on longer drives, my phone feels cool to the touch when I pull it off the charger, which is all I can really ask for.
To further put the temperature into perspective, Anker says most chargers heat a phone to around 108°F. If you've ever held a hot phone, you can probably picture what it feels like.
Smooth installation
I drive a 2023 Hyundai Sonata, and it has pretty narrow vents. However, installing this mount was a breeze, even with the smaller vents.
It has a long arm that hooks to the back of the vent and keeps the phone super stable. It works with vent blade depths of 10mm to 24mm for optimal charging performance and placement, so keep that in mind when you put it in your car.
Anker also included a handy image (seen above) showing which vents it won't work with, so you won't waste time or money ordering one by mistake. Take a look at your vents, and as long as they're like the supported ones, I can't recommend this mount enough, especially if you can take advantage of the extra speed with an iPhone 16 or iPhone 17.
