Looking for some Prime Video streaming inspiration? If you're struggling to choose what to watch, or you simply can't abide endlessly scrolling through what's new on Prime Video in December 2025, here are my three top picks that I think are worth your time.

Just like most of the best streaming services, Prime Video is home to a chart that tells you what fellow Prime members are pressing play on the most. But as you can't necessarily trust that what's trending will absolutely be worth your time, we narrow down the lineup to just a handful of watchlist-worthy movies.

'Oh. What. Fun.' (2025)

Michael Showalter's new Christmas comedy has continued to be a popular addition to the Prime Video roster since its premiere on the service on December 3. It might not have been received well by critics, but it's still the streamer's top watch.

Here, we follow Texan housewife Claire Clauster (Michelle Pfeiffer), who holds her chaotic family together every single time the holidays roll around (and knows how to plan for them, too).

The problem? She plans a special outing for her nearest and dearest, only for them to slip up and leave her behind. Feeling underappreciated, Claire sets off on her own holiday adventure and discovers some newfound magic on her impromptu Christmas caper while her family tries to find her.

In addition to Pfeiffer, "Oh. What. Fun." also stars Jason Schwartzman, Eva Longoria, Felicity Jones, Chloë Grace Moretz, Denis Leary, and Dominic Sessa (among others).

If you'd prefer to stream a perennial festive fave, then Ron Howard's "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" is the pick of Prime Video's charts. Chances are you know the story already, but if not, this live-action holiday caper sees comic star Jim Carrey bring Dr. Seuss's bad-tempered green grouch to life.

Descending from his cave on Mount Crumpit, the Grinch has his sights set on getting revenge by ruining Christmas for the cheery townsfolk of Whoville... but one youngster, Cindy Lou Who (Taylor Momsen), is convinced that the Grinch might not be the humbug he appears.

'Wicked: Part One' (2024)

As "Wicked: For Good" has hit theaters, it's no real surprise to me to see the first (and, arguably, superior) instalment of Jon M. Chu's musical adaptation in Prime Video's streaming charts.

This first feature brought the lauded Broadway musical to life on the big screen, and ended up being one of the biggest movies of last year in the process.

It took us back to the Land of Oz, before the events of "The Wizard of Oz" and explored the early relationship between would-be Wicked Witch, Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), and her roommate Galinda (Ariana Grande). Boasting powerful, brilliant performances of those much-loved hits, it's an all-singing, all-dancing treat.

If it’s in the theaters or available to stream somewhere, he’s probably watched it… especially if it has a dragon in it. Before joining the team, he was a Staff Writer at What To Watch where he wrote about a broad range of shows that stretched from "Doctor Who" and "The Witcher" to "Bridgerton" and "Love Island". When he’s not watching the next must-see movie or show, he’s probably still in front of a screen playing massive RPGs, reading, spending a fortune on TCGs, or watching the NFL.
