Bought an iPhone 17? The best headphones to pair with it are currently $100 off
AirPods Max are enjoying a healthy discount right now

If you've recently become the proud owner of a new iPhone, then your very next purchase should probably be the headphones to go with it.
And right now, you can snag the AirPods Max for $100 less at Woot, bringing them down to just $449 across the entire color range. However, just like with all the best deals you'll want to be quick — although Woot's running the deal for six days, it'll end abruptly if the stock sells out.
The AirPods Max are Apple's flagship headphones, and despite a recent USB-C update, they've remained largely unchanged since their initial release. They're a weighty, well-built pair of headphones that sound really good — earning 4 stars in our review. They're starting to get a bit long in the tooth at this point, but they remain a solid option if you're an Apple user.
The iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air are all on sale right now, and while you could be eyeing up the AirPods Pro 3 as your audio accessory of choice, just take a look at this deal.
At full price, the AirPods Max are a little harder to recommend, but with $100 off, they're well worth a look. The first generation launched in 2020, and they've barely been updated since. But, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. And for anyone deep in the Apple ecosystem, it certainly ain't broke.
There's soft cushioning around the earcups for all-day comfort alongside a wide soundstage with Apple's typically neutral sound. The AirPods Max come with some decent noise cancellation, too — they're able to block out the background sound of your office or commute without breaking a sweat.
Of course, one of the best things about the AirPods Max is the seamless pairing with every device linked to your Apple Account, thanks to the built-in H1 chip. So not only do the AirPods Max work with your new iPhone, but also your trusty MacBook and aging iPad — all without you having to do anything. It's why you'll still find them on our list of best over-ear headphones.
Another of the great design elements added to the headphones are the intuitive controls. The Apple Watch-esque dial on the right earcup is something other headphone manufacturers should absolutely copy, while the comfortable extra button lets you toggle the ANC on and off without having to fiddle with annoying touch controls.
Not everything about the headphones is perfect. The "case" that comes in the box provides scant protection, and because they don't collapse, they're not the most portable pair of cans. Battery life also fails against the competition, with only 20 hours on tap charged via the USB-C port.
