Microsoft: We're Not Having Sex on Kinect

By - Source: Tom's Guide US

After all, it's not a XXXbox.

We know that the Microsoft Kinect peripheral can do much more than just interface with the Xbox 360 for some Dance Central. Hackers have been able to make the Kinect system do some pretty amazing things when hooked up to a PC.

Last week we learned that one of those things was making a sex game. An Austrian game developer released a trailer for a game it calls ThriXXX.

Of course, it's just because there was a video demo on YouTube doesn't mean that it'll be a real game. In fact, Microsoft released a statement telling everyone that it won't be endorsing the product or allowing it on the Xbox 360.

"This isn't the first example of a technology being used in ways not intended by its manufacturer, and it won't be the last." the statement said, according to the LA Times.

"Microsoft did not authorize or license its technology for this use," it said. "Xbox is a family friendly games and entertainment console and does not allow Adults Only (AO) content to be certified for use on its platform, and would not condone this type of game for Kinect."

MUST WATCH - The first KINECT SEX GAME tech demo has arrived

Of course, once Kinect is working on PC games, anything goes.

So it's okay to shoot a cop with a sniper rifle as bystanders realistically react and flea the scene in GTA 4, that is A-OK with Microsoft's definition of family values, but god forbid there be any sex in a game. What a load of hypocritical crap!
