11. A Tour Around The DV8299XX
The HP has very little on its back: an RJ-11 modem jack and a security cable slot, along with battery access and ventilation slots.
The right side of the case offers (from left to right): an ExpressCard slot above with headphone and microphone mini-jacks, two USB ports below, and an optical drive to the right.
The left side includes from left to right AC power jack, VGA connector, S-Video out jack, LAN jack, expansion port, two USB 2.0 ports, IEEE 1394 port, PC Card slot, memory reader card slot
As you can see from the first image in this section, the front of the DV8299XX has little on it. There are bright blue LEDs for power, battery and disk drive activity, an IR lens at the far left, and a sliding latch for releasing the display deck in the middle. The rest of this surface is a grille for the great sounding built-in Altec Lansing speakers
