The Pad That Makes Your USB Port Useless

Why not write on a plain ol' notepad?

A Real Head-Scratcher: From designer Soon-won Kim comes a notepad with a plastic cover and a USB plug called the Digilog Memory. Plug it into your laptop's USB port and you've got... a paper notepad connected to your computer! That's about it.

That's right folks. According to the concept pictures, the Digilog Memory doesn't even double as a flash drive of sorts. There's apparently no storage medium tucked away cleverly on this notepad—unless you count the paper, covered by a protective plastic cover.

Why anyone would want to kill more trees—and render one USB port useless—is beyond us. Given the fragility of USB ports, what if the Digilog was used on a relatively thick laptop? The pressure produced by writing on the pad may very well render the port permanently useless.

We can't read Korean, so we might have missed something. So feel free to help us out and hit the comments below. If you're also wondering why we bothered featuring this patently useless concept, it was all for making suggestions. Maybe Soon-won Kim should keep the paper, but add something that digitizes whatever's written, through a sensor of sorts.
