The HP DeskJet 5550.

We received a lot of e-mails requesting a recommendation for a low-cost, light duty, photo quality ink jet printer. The choice wasn't hard after our review of the HP DeskJet 5550. We really love the Deskjet 5550. Its speed is adequate, prints are always very good to excellent, and, while this is a personal judgment, the looks of its are nice, as well. The cost of the cartridge refills is reasonable, but no matter which printer you buy, the ink refills are where the profit is made. HP did well with the DeskJet 5550 and it ranks very high on our recommended list. Of course, at around $150 US, it will not break the bank, either.
