Having done this many times before, I expected all kinds of problems. And that I would ultimately have to talk to someone from AT&T's notoriously less-than-human-friendly customer service department to finally get the phone activated. Nothing could be farther from the truth. With iTunes updated to v.7.3 on my PC (yes, PC, not Mac, but you already knew that) and the iPhone sitting in its cradle connected to the PC, it took all of three minutes to activate the phone. Then iTunes and the phone launched into the synchronization process, first asking me where I wanted to sync my information from.

All of my Outlook information, but email, synced up in about 15 minutes. My extensive library of iTunes synchronized in about 10 minutes and I was done. Well, except for picking an email protocol. More about that later.
