5. Benchmarks Under Windows XP

We ran MobileMark2002 to find out the average battery life of the Mayhem G1. It came at One Hour 55 Minutes. We are surprised it lasted that long, given that the Mayhem G1 has a desktop CPU, a desktop hard-drive, a 15.4 inch screen and a 128 MB video card.

The Mayhem G1 was benchmarked against the Asus S5200N and a desktop Athlon64 3000+ system (MSI K8T Neo motherboard, One Gigabyte OCZ PC3200 RAM, 7200 RPM Maxtor 160 GB Hard-Drive and the ATI AIW 9800 Pro). Keep in mind that the Asus S5200N is an ultra-portable notebook, built for long battery life and Office applications. The Mayhem G1 was built for gaming. Some of the gaming tests were not run on the S5200N.

PCMark 2002

As expected the Mayhem G1 smokes the Asus S5200N. The Asus S5200N was built with portability, battery life, and office applications in mind, while the Mayhem G1 was aimed at gamers. The Mayhem G1's CPU score even beats the Athlon64 3000+. The lower memory score is indicative of the PC2700 RAM in the Mayhem, versus the PC3200 RAM in the Athlon64 desktop.
