LucasArts Making 'Star Wars Legends' Game?
Star Wars Legends could be a secret LucasArts game.
Are you ready for another Star Wars game? Apparently there's one in the cooker right now that we haven't heard about yet.
A Kotaku reader informed the gaming blog of a "Star Wars Legends" title that is listed on the Australian Classification Board, which is rated Mature (for "fantasy violence"). Star Wars Legends is listed as an internal Lucasarts project, with Activision as publisher.
Adding credence to the upcoming game title is a filing with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for the name Star Wars Legends.
There's no doubt that LucasArts will keep on milking the franchise for generations to come, so we're guessing that we'll be hearing official word on Star Wars Legends in the near future.

What!!!! WHERE IS TIE FIGHTER 2 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm hoping this is bad ass.
I was genuinely interested until you said Activision....
Only Star Wars game I want is Knights of the Old Republic 3 (not a crappy MMO). I could go for another X-Wing/Tie Fighter game, but I know they'd make it some lame arcade game when it works best as a simulation. Another Jedi Knight game would be cool too just because it's dumb fun.
Activision is in the business of making money and suddenly because of MW2 people realize that their primary interest is their income. I have news for you: they were in the business of making profit all along. I have other news for you: all other publishers are as well. Stop your whining.

my thoguths exactly , i want a REAL KoTOR 3 not some shitty MMO , and eyah a JK 4 would rock hoppefully sucha game would be like JK3 : JA where you amke your own jedi (no offence to kyle karn but i prefer making my own char in games

Activision is just a publisher with a big budget. So what bothers you? Unless you are boycotting them and you dont feel like buying anything that if published from them.. Which makes no serious sense to me.
Personally I dont get my hopes up till I see with my on eyes the least some ingame footage.
Maxor127....right on, totally agree with everything you said. KOTOR 3!!!!!!
I don't give a crap unless they actually release it on PC (and not 2 years later).
A re-release of Tie Fighter would be awesome! They wouldn't even need to "improve" i that much for me to be happy. Multiplayer, that's all I want added (with dedicated servers).
Heck yeah on that one Honis. I had almost considered playing SW:Galaxies, I did actually play the 15 day free demo and the flying they had in that game was pretty freakin close the the classic series. It lacked only in a few missing sound effects and some more advanced controls that any Tie series veteran would quickly notice (i.e. changing the fire mode of your lasers, setting your throttle to 1/3 or 2/3 power, converting power from your lasers to your shields or vise versa, etc).
And I do miss my Jedi Knight series. Every one of them was great in their own time and the online jedi battles just kept getting better and better...beats the hell out of me why they stopped making them...oh wait, I know...because MMO's make 1000x more money.
Hell, they could just combine Tie Fighter and Jedi Knight and make a new game where you can clash sabers on the ground and then go have a dog fight up in space...that'd be friggin awesome!
Anyway, I'm hopeful that this Legends thing will be good. It's really hard to go wrong with the Star Wars formula.
lets just hope that that make a pc version which is worthy and in 3d as the technology is here..
Please some one do Dark Forces and Tie fighter series --- pppppp please
As previously stated by other people, every games developer is a business and they all need to make money.
What, you think they are all run by some maverick games guru who lives on charity and bangs out a world class game for the love of being a gamer? Wise up and take off those rose tinted glasses, even the most awful game produced by Activision today is 100 times better than some of the garbage produced 10 years ago, just some of you people are impossible to please.
By all means take the $40 you were going to spend on a game and invest in a razor blade and do the gene pool a big favour.
Back, go roger your self with a pineapple.
Dark forces was a class game and is in desperate need of modernisation. Proberly the best starwars games released. New Engine with tweaks here and there, multi player included. Lucas Arts would miss a great opertunity on this.
You tell me what games capture like what the origional starwars series did. And it would sell.
Tie fighter.

It's all a matter of perception, we all remember the arcade machine for Star Wars with blocky lines flying over the surface of a crappy death star, we all thought it was such hot shit. Today it is just shit. For every person who thinks a more detailed engine will revitalise the Tie Fighter/Xwing series there is another person who thinks it is just flogging an overly-flogged franchise.
Star Wars has a deep and rich universe with enough material to keep people happy with new material, but to keep banging out the same sad stuff is a bit tired. Maybe a way to revitalise and not annoy the MMO haters is to have a Star Wars based "Elite" style game. Plenty of space combat and plenty of character development, plus you get to try a mind trick on scrap dealers to accept republic credits...
but darkforces was actually very good.
This is one of my all time favs up there with Tie fighter - both of these are screaming for a update.. Playabilty was perfect even tho graphics nowadays look limited
How about this, a totally original game, Star Wars - Sith Lords.
Before Jedi's when there were loads and loads of badass Sith Lords, tear-assing around the galaxy lopping off heads and giving Palpatine lots of bad ideas. Playing a bad guy isn't original in some games, like GTA or Fable, but I can imagine being a goody-goody Jedi just being annoying when all you want to do is cackle in a Dr Evil chair whilst ruling the Galaxy.
Combine Xwing vs Tie Fighter with a Freelancer size space map with the ability to fight on planets like the Jedi Knight series...That, I would spend money on if the dedicated server option was available without being an MMO. For now, Battlefield 2142: First Strike mod will have to do for my Star Wars fix until Lucasarts actually does something interesting with the Star Wars PC game genre.
Is there some sort of random dickwad giving thumbs down to everything? I know it's you George Lucas, you have a lot to answer for Jar Jar Binks.
Another Jedi Knight game would be really cool. I actually preferred JKII to JA. Combat in JA was a little buggy (specifically the one hit kills with dual wielding and the gross under-poweredness of double-bladed lightsabers). And I like Kyle Katarn. He's kinda badass.
Another TIE Fighter game would be awesome. I've been starved for a good flight sim for waaay too long.
Jedi Outcast had most of the features that JA had anyway if you loaded the Jedi Plus Mod. I too preferred Outcast over JA. The dual sabers were a little more stable in JA but the gameplay itself wasn't as good in my opinion. I think JA had less maps too if I remember correctly.
My answer is: No I'm not and have never been!
[citation]Dark forces was a class game and is in desperate need of modernisation.[citation]
I know, I know, they totally need to make a modern Dark Forces. They could call it something cool like "Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy" and it would be totally bad-ass!
Worthy of mention, after the Force Unleashed debacle.
Lightsabers cut limbs off, if you hit some random dude about 20 times with a lightsaber you basically turn him into bite-size chunks, light sabers do NOT hit people 20 times and they fall on the floor whole. WFT??!!??
The first game I played on the PC was Rebel Assault. Ahh the good old days
Rebel Assault and a 1x CD-ROM with ISA expansion card. Used to cringe at the video sequences that would start and stop so much because of the optimization tools you had to use to tweak the CD-ROM memory utilizations. The game was great and the cutscenes were movie-like for the day though.
Another Jedi Knight Game
X-Wing/Tie Fighter Game
BattleFront 3 with no restrictions on the class, if you want to be a Jedi then be it, if you want a thermal detonator use it.
I hope the acting in this prospective title is better than Ep. I to III.
Oh man, I played those xwing and tie fighter games so much on my 486 I went through 3 joysticks. Thrawn forever!
X-wing vs Tie fighter was the bomb for me. I will never forget networking 4 computers and having four of us leading several sqaudrons (1 a-wing, 2 x-wing, 1 y-wing, 1 b-wing) against an imperial fleet lead by a SSD. We rocked the mission. I was in an a-wing playing tie-advanced killer. MMO or not, if they can put that into a modern game, that would just ROCK!
