4. Preliminary Performance Testing

To get an idea of the performance potential of the Mobility Radeon 9600, we ran some benchmarks. Because this is not a final engineering sample or a production notebook, we suggest that you take these numbers with a grain of salt. All tests were run at the 1024 x 768 and 1280 x 1024 resolutions only, with the PowerPlay4 technology disabled and on AC power, so the Mobility Radeon 9600 would be running at full clock speed.

While this testing is an indication of the performance potential of the Mobility Radeon 9600, clearly the clock speed of the core and the memory might be different, depending on the as yet unannounced notebook you purchase it in. As of press time, ATI has no information to share with us regarding design wins, but you should expect to be able to purchase a notebook with the Mobility Radeon 9600 later this summer.
