3D Mark 2005

3D Mark 2005 benefits from the XPS M1730’s faster processor even though some games show its graphics processors to be weaker than those of its Area-51 m9750 sibling. The Area-51 m9750 stages a small comeback at a 1920x1200 pixel resolution.

Enabling Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering paints a different picture of the Area-51 m9750, where its more powerful graphics processors take over at both 1600x1200 and 1920x1200 resolutions.

Several professional 3D modeling applications depend on processor power far more than graphics power, and this is reflected in how XPS M1730 wins for several SPECviewperf viewsets. The one viewset to take full advantage of the Area-51 m9750’s more powerful graphics is Solidworks.

Hey since you guy wrote this review alienware has released an updated version of the m9750 which has dual mobile 8700s which give it directX 10 support and they added the option of putting in a creative X-FI sound card as well. I would love to know how well those dual 8700s work, together are they more powerful than a single 8800 GTX?????, And how may full-str3eam processors are active in each one????
