Xbox 360 to Score Modern Warfare 2 DLC First

In waging war against competing platform holders, having exclusives is a pretty strong weapon. Microsoft's no stranger when it comes to securing exclusive DLC rights for the Xbox 360, no better proven than by the two extra Grand Theft Auto IV episodes.
Now Microsoft has done it again, though not to the same extent. Word from CES, by way of Destructoid, is that any DLC for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be hitting the Xbox 360 before any other platform.
While that competitive fact may not be enough to sway a gamer to trade teams all of a sudden, especially after logging countless number of hours into collecting perks, it's another win that Microsoft can notch on its bedpost.
Expect to find out more as we get closer to the release of the MW2 DLC this spring.

Hardly surprising as the PC version is a very basic console port and the PS3 is regarded as a harder system to deal with for developers.
I am shocked.
No wonder since no one at IW plays MW2 on a PC or a PS3.
You know, if you're going to use a dam TLC in your headline, at least provide the definition in the f'ing article. Not everyone inherently knowls what "DLC" is...don't make me go searching around to find out (DLC=Downloadable Content)!

Add that exclusive contract $$$$ for the DLC to the already spent $4 billion xbox has lost...
Is this just going to be more content for the multiplayer portion of the game, or is IW going to expand on the single-player portion of the game as well? I would rather not wait for CoD8, or MW3, or whatever, to find out what happens to Soap and Price.
Do not get me wrong, I do enjoy the multiplayer portion of the game, but I paid $150(for the Prestige Edition, because I can) and I would have liked to see more single-player content than what IW provided. Still, what was given was good.
so PC users will be forced to wait? having already been given an unfinished and shoddy port?
ive tried to remain positive about this game, but IW seem determined to alienate their PC fanbase.
They will get it first and they will pay more for it, have fun!
Blah I'll be long into playing Bad Company 2 for PC with Dedicated servers and DX11 support at launch to worry about this. MW2 can kiss it after March 2nd! EA/Dice you know how to make PC games!
Shouldnt PC get it the same time? MW2 plays on windows, a M$ product........
Sorry but this is OLD news. Back before the launch of MW2 Infinity Ward had already stated that the xbox would get the DLC (Downloaded Content) first.

I could care less. I was so disappointed with this game. Even my girlfriend who isn't even into FPSs said "Really!? Is that it!?" I'm glad I got it as a present and didn't actually pay money for it. Got it with the "special" Xbox with the 250Gb drive. I liked it far more than the game. All I know is that it will be a distant bad memory once Mass Effect 2 comes out at the end of the month. If you haven't gotten MW2 yet... DON'T! Well, maybe after it hits the $10 rack or used or rent it.
I dont think many PC users care about who gets it first, many many people seems to be disapointed with the game anyways. Big pricetag and yet short gameplay for the singleplayer fans and no dedicated servers for the multiplayer fans, MAN did IW & Activision screw their pc fans over in the name of even more profit! Seems a certain CEO's greed knows no limits!
PC gamers dont care... more people pirated MW2 for PC then bought it and they might pirate the DLC too, or they could save couple of hours and bandwidth and go buy Battlefield (which is at least not screwing PC gamers on purpose).... other who actually bough MW2 for PC, I hope learned their lesson and will not dump another penny into IW's pocket. I hope IW learned the lesson to not screw with PC gamers ( i could only imagine how much extra money they could've made by just implementing a few feature that PC community asked for)
If the current trend of DLC is continued, it will just be a few (normally 3) MP maps and a few more perks, they don't tend to add anything to the SP campaign. PC users don't care, MP on this is garbage and IW know PC gamers are not interested in its MP offering it is badly broken compared to their earlier offerings (this is why it was so badly pirated, no one wanted to pay such an extreame price for a 4 hour SP with a garbage MP)
Xbox owners will enjoy it probably, the don't know the benefits of true dedicated servers and therefore don't know better, and don't realise just how much they are being ripped off for a few maps.
Perhaps the PS3 owners will be a bit miffed, but really this game is dead already, the death bell had been rung before the game was launched for any terms of longevity
I dont know why IW went Console only for DLC 1st...When the PC put them on the map..
I know players pirate games because you cant rent a PC game or try it out b4 you buy.that's the only thing that sucks about the PC vs Console. Consoles you can buy a used game and if you dont like it return it, as long it's used, new on the other hand tough luck...
I can only wish that pcs went they way of the console for support.
I hope that big company's like EA, Blizzard, Bioware to name a few dont go the way of Console's 1st then PC's...

DLC was most likely targeted at their biggest market first. PC gamers just have to accept that there are far fewer of them than the console kiddies. A 199 dollar console is easier to come by for most folks than a 199 video card and all the hardware that you would need to surround it to make enjoyable game play. A majority of who would read an article at TH would scoff at the notion but yes.. not everyone is willing to spend 800-3000 dollars to play video games at their computer desk in spite of the higher quality game experience.

I gladly accept these facts. What is happening is that the annoying gamers have migrated to consoles. Online PC gaming has not been this enjoyable in years. I am glad that I can afford to have a $6000 PC to game on and recently purchase two 55" LED TVs for gaming. One for the PC and one for the 360 in the living room. As far as I am concerned high quality gaming should come at a price. I do not mind paying extra to be able to do things that are just out or (in the consoles case) WAY out of other peoples reach.
Why get MW2? L4D2 is around $33-37 on sale at Steam and it is a much better game. MP requires teamwork and from what I've seen, teamwork in MW2 mean have an uber guy running around (not taking cover) and shoot first.
Here is my two cents: I have played it on the PC. So far all the comments about the PC version are spot on. However what really gets me is that IW and Steam said that this would be better to curb piracy and supposedly cheaters. Well that is a out right lie. So far the game hackers are playing with all sorts of bots and has for piracy MW2 is the most pirated game to date with about 4 mil. pirated copies for the PC and another 900,000 for the consoles (http://www.tomshardware.com/news/pirated-modern-warfare-bittorrent-download,9325.html). So much for that excuse.
I have never had so much problems even playing a FPS on dedicated servers than with MW2. At least the servers I played on the hacking players were kept in check. With IW and Steam it is rampent by at least a factor of 5. IW and Steam are just a bunch of liars who care nothing for their customers. This was my first and last time I will ever by a IW/Steam game. If M$ wants it they can have it. Its a piece of junk anyway.

mw2 was biggest disappointment of 2009 glad I just rented it instead of buying.

They can keep this console port job and shove it in their arses, it will not see my PC. This is a kiddie console game if I ever saw one, I will put it in with Halo and forget about it. Dragon Age is doing just fine at 1920 x 1200 but I will not submit to being milked for cash so no DLC for me.

Microsoft should drop xbox and focus on producing PC games that run on Windows. and making accessory's for pc gaming like controllers and what not
