Rumors Say Xbox 360 Pro Becoming Elite

Could the Pro become an Elite this fall?
Price drops are and inevitability for both the Xbox 360, and Ars Technica’s source believes that he knows when and how it’ll happen.
The Xbox 360 won’t be getting a price drop per se, but rather a shift in SKU positioning. According to the source, the Xbox 360 Pro bundle that includes the 60 GB hard drive will be no longer available once supplies dry up in retail channels this summer.
Replacing it at the $299 mark will be the Xbox 360 Elite in black with a 120 GB hard drive, effectively reflecting a $100 price cut for the upper SKU. It’s unclear if Microsoft will continue to offer the two free games of Halo 3 and Fable II with the package, but it would make sense for a $100 price cut to come after the dropping of the bundle.

Wonder if they meant to include the name PS3 in this news article.
looks like it will only be the arcade or elite and nothing in between. maybe they can lower the price of their hard drives so i can bump up from the 20gb.
Guys, I think TOMS purposly puts the typos in there and proof mistakes....ya all make sure a big deal about it, I think it's a hobby of theirs. I really do, just to make you nitpickers squirm.

I love it when people use poor grammar to complain about poor grammar.
I doubt they will just replace the elite with the pro. Hopefully this change will go all the way down the product line. Replace the Pro with the Elite at $299, replace the Arcade with the Pro at $199, and drop the Arcade to $150. I prefer the White console I think it would be foolish to have the only white console option be the arcade. $150 entry level price and $199 for the Pro would make it extremely difficult for Sony to compete for buyers even if they dropped their prices.
Could it be that they might do a new bundle with a much larger HDD????

What? But didn't you report that they would be phasing out the X-Box Elite and keeping the Pro?
I personally don't complain about grammar/typos when I can understand what they meant to say. But when the first paragraph/sentence is illegible, that's unexcusable to me.

sounds like there trying to keep up with the PS2 in HDD space now/ there's also reports they will be phasing out the 80GB PS3 and having only the 120GB versions which means Sony will be announcing another phantom price cut.
With the PS3 it is different though, because any idiot can replace the hard drive themselves with out buying the "special" super expensive one like MS supplies. Since all of the current PS3 models have IDENTICAL features (no more worrying about USB/card readers/PS2 compatibility) the only differentiating feature IS the hard drive.
What would make me like Microsoft a lot more in regards to their Xbox 360, simple:
-Instead of lowering the price, just give us all the wireless adapter free instead of trying to get $100 out of us for it
-Make the dam console actually work. As much as I screw around with my computer and mess with stuff, it is STILL more reliable than an Xbox 360.
Frankly, I find this one of the single biggest cases of consumer retardation EVER, "well it has a tremendous failure rate, but I need it to play Halo so I'll buy it anyways no matter what, maybe even 2 or 3 or 4 times if needed!"
Microsoft should just sell faster XBOX360 hard drives, then i will be good to go. The ones we have now are a little slow in my opinon.
The main issue here is this is not an APPLE product so everyone that is complaining about how this should have this or that or that it is limited blah blah blah just need to search elsewhere for a gaming system. I in fact love my 360. It plays all types of movies, games and music. The fact that I don't need a BD player to watch HD is even better.
