Redmond (WA) - Microsoft has released the quarter results for the second quarter of its fiscal year, reporting over $16.3 billion in revenue.
That is a new second-quarter record for the software giant, beating out the previous record of $14 billion. Microsoft also set same-quarter records for operating income and diluted earnings per share, which were $6.48 billion and $0.50, respectively.
The company said its success was due to continued adoption of Windows Vista, brisk business-to-business sales, and expanding international customers. Additionally, Microsoft noted that Xbox 360 lifetime sales have reached 17.7 million units.
