15. Our Reference Mobile Computer

Hardware, operating systems, application software and test suites can change. So that we have a hardware standard against which to evaluate new variables that may enter our tests, we have our own reference mobile computer, an Acer TravelMate 2304LCi notebook. Before testing any other mobile computers, we tested our reference computer using our entire mobile computer testing suite.

Conclusion

We believe that we have designed a testing methodology for laptop and notebook computers for home and office that is, in the tradition of TG Publishing's other testing suites, both comprehensive and technically sound. We also understand that nothing is perfect, so we will constantly evaluate our methodology, looking for ways to make it better and to adapt it to new technologies.
