Thanks to the large-format display, the Inspiron 8600 still weighs a full 7.72 lbs / 3.5 kilograms, despite a thickness of only 1.42" / 36 mm. This notebook can thus be viably transported, but is not a portable device. What's more, because of the large display dimensions, a larger carrying case is needed to tote this notebook around.
