Ever get that sinking feeling as you realize you've sent an email, text, or IM to the wrong person? You probably kick yourself every time it happens, right? Well, it seems Google might be the one kicking itself today, as a new glitch in its Gtalk instant messaging service is sending people's messages to the wrong contacts.
According to ZDNet, on Thursday GTalk users in Australia began reporting that their messages were being sent to contacts other than the intended recipient. The news outlet confirmed the glitch is present within Google Apps for Business accounts, including those that have yet to switch to Hangouts, but stated that there is no indication that the messages are being received by a third party.
Google's App Dashboard states that only messages sent between 10 p.m. PST and 1:30 a.m. PST are affected by the bug. The company hasn't offered any more information on what went wrong or how the problem was fixed but says it is continuing to investigate the issue.
