Full GameCube stuffed into modded design.
Today's current gaming portables are starting to look a little old. The DS and DSi aren't exactly high-powered systems, and the PSP is still trying to figure out exactly which form and niche is right for it.
Instead, would you like to play Metroid Prime or Zelda: Wind Waker while on the go? Then perhaps you wish that you had (or had the skills to make) something like this:
The NCube
Check out this forum thread for more details. Amazing work!

Were can i get one of them!!
^^^ just doesn't get it
Wow now that is nice, I want one.
I don't think you'll be going far with that!
A gamecube isn't specifically mobile oriented!
Perhaps you'll be able to go as far as the powercable allows you!
Nicely done!

This reminds me of the portable Dreamcast
Nintendo should really hire him for the handheld department. Maybe then we will see handheld systems with power. Portable Xbox anyone?
Yeah do this with like a xbox 360 then i will be happy. I bet you could make a ton of money with it. heck with cooler chips these days if you put 32 nm chip in there it may work...

^^^just doesn't get it either!!! ( IT RUNS ON BATTERIES TOO )
A bit big, but nicely done indeed.
Neat. =) But I'd like a portable dreamcast , or playstation 2 instead.
that is so much better than the psp and the ds
Man... a little too big for my taste
Thats pretty cool
Ya it may be a little too big, but this is a modder not a Nintendo engineer. Give him the right resources and I bet he could really come up with a small handheld with truly amazing power. Heck, the Gamecube came out sooooo long ago. We should have the technology by now to greatly increase that power and decrease the size.
Just waiting on Nintendo and/or Sony... COME ON YOU GUYS THIS IS AWESOME!! Give me a superior handheld that I can truly enjoy and I will be glad to jump on the bandwagon.
It looks exactly what i'd think xbox portable would be like.

Hah, that's awesome. This guy has way too much time on his hands though
.
^^^ just doesn't get it
It was a joke...
I was about to say exactly what megamanx00 said... that thing it's just insanely cool but that guy has too much free time!!! I'm far from jealous tho' knowing all that stuff to build that thing must be really colorful.
I still don't get why he went for the average Gamecube optic reader. he could have save lots of spaces with something different. like the notebook kind of reader, may be it was not even possible who knows right? this guy is a genius.
Although I was expecting a different sounding tone of voice from him -- with a handle like Hellraiser -- that is one awesome piece of work. And runs on Lithium Polymer batteries too?!
Clap, clap, clap!
Very nice.
How about a Wii/GameCube laptop? They both use less power than a laptop. You wouldn't need a high resolution screen, and you could put a big ass battery in it and still have plenty room to spare. =D
Or or or... how about they put real games on the PSP/NDS? Give me a real FPS (hell even give me CS:S), give me RPGs like Fable that aren't crippled.
Nice!
And it can also be used as a disc/shuriken launcher.
Will it play Crysis?
Nicely done sir.
Modern day Game Gear! SAGA!
Will it play Crysis?
ITS A GAMECUBE! Enough with the Crysis comments. Its about as annoying as this Apple does this does that type of thing. Time for some real news and hardware like this portable. Things us geeks actually care about!
now I have a project for this winter!
does this guy have a job?
nitendo should hire people like this
