Norton VPN is running an exclusive deal that sees Tom's Guide and TechRadar readers get their hands on a $30 Amazon gift card with Norton VPN's two-year plans.

Norton VPN is a challenger to the best VPNs, and has undergone a serious upgrade in the last year. It's a safe and secure VPN, built by one of the biggest names in cybersecurity.

Norton VPN is a completely new beast. 18 months ago, it was a fairly mediocre VPN, lacking the features to really challenge established names like NordVPN and Proton VPN. Now, it's a serious challenger to the biggest players, with bags of potential – you can read our Norton VPN review to see what's new.

Given its name, it's no surprise that Norton VPN's privacy and security credentials are top notch. It has an audited no-logs policy, and its proprietary protocol, Mimic, has received a security assessment – neither found any major issues.

There's also a kill switch, split tunneling, Double VPN and IP Rotation. As well as Mimic, Norton VPN supports the WireGuard, OpenVPN, and IPSec protocols, but these vary by platform.

Its Android and Windows VPN apps see the highest level of support and features, but Apple platforms are rapidly catching up. Norton VPN's apps are simple and easy to use, with UI design consistent across mobile and desktop.

In our latest round of testing, Norton VPN recorded peak speeds of 1,010 Mbps and excelled at unblocking streaming sites. It could access every major streaming service first-time, including Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+, as well as regional services including BBC iPlayer and TVNZ+.

The 6,500+ servers worldwide is more than enough, but Norton VPN's 116 locations in 74 countries does lag behind its rivals a touch. However, most major locations are covered, so unless you're after something specific, you shouldn't have any problems finding a server.

Norton VPN is amongst the cheapest VPNs out there. NordVPN, ExpressVPN, and Proton VPN are all more expensive. There are a handful of VPNs cheaper than Norton – notably Surfshark, PrivadoVPN, and Private Internet Access. However, the range of features these VPNs offer varies.

There's still room for improvement when it comes to Norton VPN, but it's a worthwhile VPN option and subscribing now will land you a $30 Amazon gift card – just in time for summer.
