To make an HTPC as quiet as possible, a quiet or outright passive power supply is a must-have: something like the Phantom 350, for example. But those who might wish to install this PSU, they should also be aware that the unit is longer than most ordinary ATX power supplies. This could have a negative impact, particularly in smaller HTPC cases.
This 350-Watt unit is more than adequate, however, to power a home entertainment PC with a hard drive, motherboard and a passively-cooled graphics card.
