Casini Studio's MP3 Player Doubles as a Pendant

Puts the minimalist portability of the current-generation iPod shuffle to shame

Here's a design that actually one-ups Apple's: an extremely compact MP3 player that doubles as a pendant. The brainchild of Casini Studio, this tiny portable media player concept is shaped like a thick and oversized spoon.

Controls are embedded right on the front, with embossed symbols indicating buttons for volume levels and track selection. The included earphones seamlessly follow the main unit's aesthetic lines, with the cords coupled relatively close to the ear pieces. The point? To let prospective users wear this MP3 player like a necklace.

Best of all, this PMP isn't effectively tied to the included earphones, unlike Apple's current generation iPod shuffle. The controls are on the actual unit, not integrated into the earphone cords. It's pretty clear however that the MP3 player looks best with its accompanying in-ear plugs.

No information on storage capacity and other features—such as the gadget's power source—were available as of this writing, so we can only wait-and-see if people at Casini are actually interested to turn their mockup into reality.
