6. Benchmarks Under Windows XP

Not being ones to break with tradition, we used a combination of synthetic and real benchmarks for this test.

Drivers and Software
Graphics Driver ATI 6.13.10.6278
DirectX Version: 8.1 (4.08.01.0810)
OS Windows XP Pro, Build 2600 SP1

Quake III Arena, Patch V1.16 640x480 - 16 bit / 1024 x 768 - 32 bit / 1280 x 1024 - 32 bit
Timedemo, demo001
command line = +set cd_nocd 1 +set s_initsound 0
Graphics detail = Normal
Sysmark 2002 Version 1.0
MobileMark2002 Version 1.0

We measured battery run-down time in three different scenarios in order to simulate typical user behavior:

Presentation (playing a presentation in a loop); DVD video playback (DVD playback in a loop); Gaming (game demo in an endless loop).

We also ran the synthetic battery benchmark MobileMark2002. In all the battery benchmarks, we set the display brightness to 100 candelas per square meter.
