For when the phone is just too far away.
Nothing goes better with a gaming session like a couple of slices of pizza, right? Well, now you can order pizza right from the Xbox 360 dashboard. That's right, thanks to a deal between Microsoft and Pizza Hut, Xbox users can now order dinner without having to pick up their phone, or turn on their computer. Polygon reports that the Xbox dashbaord app will feature the entire Pizza Hut menu and the ability to create custom pizzas.
"We're always looking at ways to give our audience more of what they're interested in," Microsoft's Larry Hyrb told Polygon. "If you look at our audience, they love pizza. I mean, who doesn't? It has international appeal, and Pizza Hut is a recognized brand that matches up well with the Xbox brand," he continued, later adding, "Pizza Hut has always showed affinity for new ways to order products. Now we can do it on console. The app was a logical progression."
Users will have to connect their Xbox Live account and Pizza Hut account before they can use the application. And, if you've got Kinect, we've got good news. According to NBCNews, the Pizza Hut application will also come with support for Kinect's voice and motion-controlled input.
For now, it sounds like the app is U.S. only, but we'll keep you abreast of any international developments.
