4. All In One, Continued
The satellites look like small elongated panels with a base to let them sit on a flat surface, but they can also be mounted on the wall if you don't attach the base. They contain a 2" (5 cm) full-range speaker with a sealed load, hidden behind a handsome metal grille. The subwoofer-in vertical format, which makes it easier to find a place for-uses a very classic pattern, sporting a 5" (12 cm) woofer with a bass-reflex load. The reflex port opens on the front surface, under the protective grille.

The controls are located on the right-hand satellite, with a volume potentiometer that also serves as the on/off switch (with an LED indicator.) It also has a pushbutton for enabling an effect called "SFX" (Sound Field Xpander) that's supposed to widen the stereo image. This satellite also has the connection cable to the PC, ending in a 1/8" (3.5 mm) jack, and includes a 1/8" headphone jack as well. The relative bass volume adjustment, however, is on the back of the subwoofer cabinet; this is not very practical, but a common approach in this price segment.
