Get an iPhone 12 mini for free at StraightTalk
Apple's smallest phone is now free
Apple has discontinued its iPhone 12 mini line, but years after its initial release, it remains one of my favorite iPhones. It's small, powerful, and thanks to this StaightTalk deal — it's also free.
For a limited time, new customers can get the iPhone 12 mini for free when you activate a line of service on a Silver Unlimited 3 month plan or higher at StraightTalk. That's an excellent deal on a budget iPhone that can run the latest iOS 26.
The iPhone 12 mini is Apple's smallest iPhone. It packs a 5.4-inch OLED (2340 x 1080) display, A14 Bionic CPU, and 64GB of storage. On the back you'll find a 12MP wide (ƒ/1.6) and 12MP ultrawide (ƒ/2.4) camera lens. The front camera packs a 12MP (ƒ/2.2) lens. Yes, it's discontinued, but the iPhone 12 mini is still a fun phone for anyone who wants power in a small package.
Straight Talk is a no-contract carrier offering unlimited data plans, 5G coverage, and multiline plans. Phones and plans are available exclusively via Straight Talk or at Walmart.
The carrier is part of Verizon's prepaid brands that also includes the likes of Visible and Total Wireless. Although it doesn't hold a spot in our list of the best prepaid phone plans, it still offers a great value to households with multiple phones/lines.
In our iPhone 12 mini review we rated it an affordable yet compact flagship. It features a 5.4-inch OLED display (2340 x 1080), A14 Bionic CPU, and 64GB of storage. It sports dual rear cameras — 12MP wide (ƒ/1.6) and 12MP ultrawide (ƒ/2.4) — as well as a 12MP (ƒ/2.2) front camera.
Unfortunately, the iPhone 12 mini doesn't support Apple Intelligence. (You'll need an iPhone 15 Pro or newer for Apple Intelligence). However, the iPhone 12 mini can run the latest iOS 26 software. Despite its age, it's also great for everything from streaming Netflix to the occasional game, making this a good deal for iPhone fans on a tight budget.
