Paramount+ has been in the news a lot lately because of its impending merger with Warner Bros. Discovery. As part of that acquisition, Paramount has already revealed that it plans to fold HBO Max into Paramount+. But that's not the only streaming service Paramount is absorbing into its flagship streamer.

First reported by Deadline, Paramount is shuttering BET+ and merging its 1,000 hours of content into Paramount+. While the announcement was made on Friday, March 13, BET+ won't officially become a part of Paramount+ until June, at which point all the content previously on the former will be available to stream on the latter.

Score Paramount+ for just $2 right now

As I mentioned, Paramount+ normally costs you $8.99 a month for the Essential tier. If you want to add Showtime content and a live feed of your local CBS channel, you can pay $5 more for Paramount+ Premium.

But right now, you don't have to choose. Paraomunt is offering both Paraomunt+ plans for $2.99 per month for your first two months. This limited-time promotion is available to new and returning subscribers on monthly plans, but only until the end of March. On April 1, you'll be stuck paying full price.

Paramount Plus Essential
Paramount Plus Essential: was $8.99 now $2.99 at Paramount+

Paramount+ Essential is the streamer's budget-friendly, ad-supported tier. But it still comes with a lot. You get access to over 40,000 TV episodes and movies from brands like CBS, MTV, Nickelodeon, and more. Plus, you get a ton of live sports, including NFL games and Champions League matches.

Paramount Plus Premium

Paramount+ Premium is the ad-free tier (aside from live TV). You get everything included in Essential, plus your local CBS live feed, the full Showtime library, and the ability to download content for offline viewing. It even supports higher-quality streaming up to 4K UHD (select titles).

So sign up today and try out Paramount+ for March and April; maybe even check out some March Madness. That way, you'll already be familiar with the streaming service before BET+ merges with it in June.
