How Natal Knows If You're Female or Male
A recent demonstration shows how Project Natal recognizes males and females.
Next Gen News posted a cool video taken from Wednesday's Think Next convention, sponsored by Microsoft Israel's R&D Center. In the clip, Dr. Ilan Spillinger, Microsoft VP of Hardware and Technology, demonstrated how Project Natal views and recognizes humans, detects the actual gender (via Natal's facial recognition software), distance, and the various movements.
Engadget adds to the report, saying that lag issues originally plaguing the technology in previous appearances have since been eradicated. The only noticeable problem now is an apparent jittering effect caused when a second person enters the picture.

Hmmm i remember a while back the face tracking software from hp or dell .. that couldn't face track black people. So i'm wondering, is skin color a problem for natal when it comes to distinguishing sexes?
it's easy, if you play xbox you're a male. if you don't play it, you're female.

I would think children would be difficult to differentiate. Physically very similar with far fewer gender specific movements.
The only way this can work is if it can see my cock. Imagine standing there waving your tackle around in front of your telly. Be like being a teenager again.
They should just use airport scanners and get it over with. Those seem to work extremely well in determining the parts inside the pants.
Whew there are in fact other anatomical places that they could have used to decide this...
They can spare the complexity by asking them to take off their clothes!
Or the software could ask the simplest question of all:

If it gets an immediate answer like "wasssuuuuupp" then it's definitely a dude in front of the PC!!
