Redmond (WA) - If you are tired of big and bulky projectors, Microvision will debut a handheld, battery-operated projector at next week’s Consumer Electronics Show. According to a press release, the company will demonstrate its code-named SHOW projector which can display 848 by 480 pixel pictures in "DVD quality". Microvision hopes to commercially release the projector in 2008.
SHOW is a plug and play projector that can connect to laptops, phones, cameras and other electronic devices. Picture size ranges from 12 inches to 100 inches, depending on how far the projector is from the screen. Microvision claims SHOW can last 2.5 hours on fully-charged batteries.
Of course this isn’t the first time a company has introduced a hand-held projector and even Microvision itself filed an almost identical press release last year for the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show. You can read that release There’s no word on how much the projector will eventually cost.
