9. Benchmark Results, Cont'd

The battery life of the H1940 is disappointingly short. The device lasts just less than three hours with a full battery and disabled BT module. This cannot be due to the battery capacity of 900 mAh. Because the battery of its same-name rival, the iPAQ H2215, is not any bigger. With or without a replacement battery - this "feature" is in need of urgent improvement.

While the 2D graphics performance is very good, the device only offers average 3D graphics performance.

At a brightness of 77 candela per square meter, the 3.8" TFT display is very readable in rooms with normal lighting. Even in normal daylight outside, the display is clear.

A practical test in which 1600 contacts from the address book are synchronized via USB puts the iPAQ H1940 clearly ahead of the pack. It even beats the Asus Mypal A620. At 200 MHz, its PXA255 CPU supports a bus speed that is twice as fast as its predecessor PXA250, which allows very fast communications with the

local memory. Obviously, the iPAQ H1940 also capitalizes on the relatively high speed of the memory bus - 133 MHz maximum - in this discipline.
