3. Case And Connectivity

Like the nc8230, the nx6125 wins us over at first glance, with its solid, sturdy and warp-resistant case. One really can't find any fault with regards to the feel of the surface and the quality. The grey color may not be to everyone's taste, and is not likely to win any beauty contests. In our opinion, however, the color is not so crucial. This machine is no head-turner, but captivates with its clear and uncomplicated design.

Long Battery Life With The Help Of An Auxiliary Battery On The Bottom

HP has added connectors at the back, such as GBit LAN, S Video and one of a total of three USB 2.0-Ports. This is very much appreciated as there is no bulky energy supply cable that sticks out sideways to needlessly waste space on your desk.

The battery of the Compaq nx6125 is located at the back.

Whether the user is right or left handed, the USB 2.0 socket can be used for a mouse without the cable being in the way while working.

However, the closing mechanism of the battery seemed to us to be poorly designed. Because both clips are equipped with springs, changing the battery is only possible by turning the whole computer upside down and laying it screen down, opening the clips with both hands and then taking out the battery. Normally- which is the case with the nc8230 - only one of the clips has a spring fitting. In this case, the notebook can be held in one hand and the battery can be removed with the other.

Impractical: Both clips for removing the battery have springs.

The nx6125 battery, with 10.8 V and 4.8 Ah produces 52 Wh of energy.
