Gears of War 3 Trailer Released (Female Soldiers!)
It's a shame that we have to wait a full year for such awesomeness.
After the false start late last week with the unintended Gears of War 3 announcement on Xbox Live, Epic Games' Cliff Bleszinski finally made it to the Jimmy Fallon show to show off Gears of War 3.

Cool stuff so far? There will be female soldiers and a four-player story co-op.
We already knew last week that the final Gears chapter will be before us a year from now, but today Microsoft confirmed the dates as April 5, 2011 in North America and Asia, April 7 in Japan, and April 8 in Europe and the rest of the world.

There are too few female characters in action/shooter games today. There isn't one in MW2 or BCBF2 for instance, has anyone met the actual military? Let alone futuristic games.
Even doom/quake added a female long ago. There should be more females in shooters, games in general. I liked the girl from ___

I would respectfully submit that in terms of relation to reality even one female in a front line war fighting role is absurd. But my retarded feminized new age manliness says I should place females in alpha male roles. To me this honestly makes as much sense as transvestites.
I'm pretty biased against that game since they ruined the second one in my opinion, but that game still looks pretty terrible.

. This game was the game that got me hooked on XBL many years ago in the first place. If only they didn't mess up GOW2's MP so horribly and strip most of what made GOW1 so fun to play I think people wouldn't have such a grudge with Gears.
NO PC version of Gears 2 or 3...

Wow...that is honestly one of the very best teaser trailers I have ever seen --

The ashes effect is very reminiscent of the scene in Interview with the Vampire (with Claudia) that gives me chills every time I see it...I wonder if there was any type of influence from that source?
i doubt is going to beat the GoW 1 experience and specially with the project natal out, another game with lots of hype being one more meh at the end.
and 1 year of development doubt is going to be an epic game, awesome games take longer to develop to get more details on it, and if they are currently working on it, is sucks atm the trailer also sucked.
my 2 cents, the gears of wars 1 was the best, and on pc was awesome. ( with lot of bugs, but once it was sorted out was really cool)
Man.....this trailer gave me goosebumps!!! Gears of War for me never disappoints when it comes to drawing you in with it's kiss a$$ story, cannot wait!!

I never played any of these games. I have no clue what they are about and this is the first trailer I have ever seen for any of the franchise.
That said, I have to say who ever did this piece did a very good job with the visuals and music. That one part when he falls and is staring at the ashes of the mother trying to protect her two children is very powerful.
Art comes in many forms, be it sculptures, paintings, poetry, music or even video games. And this is no exception. In art, each person interprets what they see and when I watched that particular scene it really moved me. Being a father of two children of the same approximate age as what were shown, I think it effected me in a way I didn't think it would.
Kudos to the artists who made this... very good job.

Let's not get too technical. It's another game where the point is to kill things with guns. ANOTHER game. I wonder how many have been produced? Mass Effect is like one of the only games I play because it has some depth to it. Something different.

I've absolutely loved this teaser. It's cool to see that Anya will be fighting shoulder-to-shoulder with the rest of the crew, but it's that haunting music from Sun Kil Moon "Heron Blue" that is just icing on the cake.
For those that haven't played any of the Gears games yet, they are all well done. Good voice acting, excellent graphics and fun (most of the time) gameplay. The story is a little hard to follow sometimes, but the "director" that put the stuff together did a good job assembling it, including scenes that would occasionally wrench your heartstrings much like how this teaser did.
