6. Kensington Laptop Desktop USB 2.0, Continued

Unfortunately the designers did not consider left-handers in constructing the mechanism, as the switch is located on the right of the hinge.


On the back of the base is an integrated USB2.0 hub with a total of four ports, and an uplink cable built into the case for connecting the unit to a notebook. The fact that the USB ports are all located on the back means that plugging peripherals in and out is a relatively tricky affair. The stand is powered by an AC adapter.

The Laptop Desktop USB 2.0 from Kensington is currently only available in the US at a price of $60 to $80.

This accessory makes a pretty solid impression both visually and mechanically, although the manufacturer's warranty is a somewhat stingy 12 months.
