Walmart is offering the Palm Pixi for just $30 through LetsTalk.

Yesterday photos of the Palm Pixi in Walmart hit the web and potential customers were reminded of the $100 price tag. Cheaper than the iPhone, the DROID, even the Palm Pre, the Palm Pixi is definitely an affordable option for those shopping for a smartphone.

Those planning on purchasing the device will be happy to hear that Walmart will be offering the Pixi at a considerably lower price. According to Engadget sources, Walmart partner LetsTalk is offering the phone for just thirty bucks on contract. Interestingly, a quick trip to the Walmart's LetsTalk page shows the Pre for $99.

Tempted?

Wow. Good deal. Lose the keyboard and give me a bigger screen I might be tempted to buy this phone. And please. I don't want to hear the barrage of replies telling me about how awesome physical keyboards are.

But physical keyboards ARE awesome!

Buy a Palm Pre then for crying out loud. NOTE: THE PIXI IS A STEP DOWN FROM THE PRE.

Don't like the Pre. It's too fat because of the physical keyboard. The design of the Pixi would be great if they just got rid of that keyboard and extended the screen down.

Awesome at making the device thicker than it needs to be and/or taking up space.

And making them more usable and less horrible.

Nope, not interested. I'll go for a DROID or a $30 pre paid phone. I have no interest in the middle ground.

How thin do you NEED a device? My palm fits in my pocket, what is the issue? I still have an iPod for the Nike+ and actually wish it was the same thickness as the iPhone, with the space taken up by a longer battery.

If iPhone is thin enough, then why make iPod thinner?

Exactly. It's not the "Zack Morris" phone or something.

The Pixi is $24.99 at Wirefly. This includes family plans. WalMart/Letstalk charges $80 for the 2nd phone on a family plan.
