Star Trek Online Tool Lets You Tweet in Klingon

A translator located on the Star Trek Online website lets you tweet in Klingon. 'oH ghaH QaQ jaj DaqjaH!

Know your Klingon? Neither do we, but the latest "viral" promotion for the upcoming MMORPG Star Trek Online can make it look as if you're more fluent in Klingon than Mr. Worf and all his crusty-browed kin. What's even better is that this "translator" will take 100 characters of English, chew them up, and spit it all out onto your Twitter page in glorious Klingon.

"DaH SoH je laH vIH lIjHuman juppu' je jatlh tlhIngan lo'lI' vamhandy jan mIw," reads my latest tweet, saying that now you too can impress your human friends and speak Klingon by using this handy translator tool. The embedded translator will also post the Klingon tweets locally for all Trekkies to see on the STO website.

Of course, if you have nothing clever to say, the Klingon translator also provides a few pre-generated quotes to throw in there such as "it is a good day to die," "your mother has a smooth forehead," "it is a good day to tweet" (although we're betting no worthy Klingon would say that), "compliments to a worthy opponent," and more.

Star Trek Online is slated to hit the PC on February 2, 2010, developed by MMORPG veteran Cryptic Studios and published by Atari. Registered gamers of the STO website can get an early glimpse of the game via the open beta taking place January 12 to January 26. Invitation keys will be provided on a first come, first serve basis so sign up quick!

Impress your friends? I think the term they were looking for is "mortify."

Probably takes up minimal server space, since words like "date", "intercourse", and "career" can be omitted.

Kevin, if you post your articles in Klingon we wont be able to poke at your spelling and grammatical errors!

You should see a doctor about that. You might have caught a cold or something.

Oh god, what's the world coming to. I swear, if Klingon becomes some kinda 3rd language in the US... well, I guess I'll just have to learn it. Ugh!

Although I am told Klingon is not going to be big at launch. Already they say, you need to play fed initially and switch to klingon later and at launch its only going to be pvp leveling. That's going to be a pain.
