Hand Warmer Mouse Heats Up Your Browsing

- By - Source : Tom's Guide US

Here's a quick look at a group of interesting mice.

Web surfers looking for a way to jazz up the computer desk may want to check out this $15 leather USB optical mouse. While I personally can't bring myself to call the design "elegant," the three versions do look rather unique, sporting dark brown, light brown, or red leather layered on metallic plating. The peripheral seems too small for manly hands, measuring 87 x 55 x 17 mm and weighing around 50g. Of course over time the leather will probably fade and come off but as they say, you get what you pay for.

If you're looking for something a bit more different, why not purchase this $17 USB Warmer Optical Mouse? The peripheral serves as both an optical mouse and a hand warmer, perfect for when your significant other (or roommate) insists on keeping the thermostat below freezing. A on/off switch mounted on the side allows the surfer to use the device without tanning any skin.

Gadget4all is also offering a unique mouse for racing fans. This USB Racing Car Mouse III offers four different models-- grey, pink, red, and white-- all of which sports headlights and taillights that actually stay lit. This mouse is optical as well, costing $16 each. While this peripheral would be ideal for racing fans, consumers with sticky-fingered kids may be in a world of trouble.

Personally, I want a mouse that resembles the Star Trek: The Next Generation phaser, complete with lights and sounds to annoy everyone else in the room.

Internally warmed mice? Dammit! I NEED THAT. My hands are so cold I can't feel them for large parts of the day... Shame I'm too attached to my Razer mice...

What kind of power does that pull from the USB port?

USB 2.0 is only good for 500mA @ 5V iirc.

Jersey gloves with the finger tips cut off work good and are compatible with all mice.

Hand warmer mouse? Perfect gift for my wife! (In general, I find most women complain about being cold, so don't say this is an unneeded product...)
