Google Confuses Users with 'Googlle' Logo

Google only just cleared up all the extra-terrestrial/UFO business last week but the search engine had users scratching their heads again this past weekend with a doodle to celebrate the site's birthday.
The doodles on Google's homepage have been causing quite a lot of confusion over the last few weeks. Between crop circles and UFOs making off with the second 'o' in the company logo, it's been a very confusing month. The Daily Mail reports that Google's decision to change the spelling of the logo to "Googlle" to celebrate its 11th birthday caused a lot of users to wonder why the site had spelled its own name wrong.
"However the somewhat subtle addition of the 'L' caused some confusion - with 'why is google spelt wrong' and 'why does google have two ls' rapidly becoming two of the most searched-for search terms on the internet."
Earlier this month Google displayed several logos that involved UFOs, crop circles and alien invasion. The company just last week confirmed that the logos were to celebrate the birthday of The War of the Worlds author, H.G. Wells. Check out the full story here.

Maybe they hired a Tom's Editor to review the spelling before publishing the logo.
Just google search why google changed its logo
Google has always changed how their logo looks, changing font or adding additional pictures to it. Its almost a weekly event. Why is this all of a sudden surprising people? Aside from wondering what prompts each new design, why are people so confused and worried about new google images?
Well holding ones mouse over it and having it say Google turns 11 kind of gives it away.
Its not as mind boggling as some think.

Thats funny man!
Or you could just hover your cursor over the logo and it will tell you...
The HTML TITLE tag on the Google doodle images tells you what they're all about. In most browsers you just hover your mouse cursor over the image and it'll show you the image title text. I remember with the UFO doodle it said something like "H.G. Wells Birthday". I missed the "Googlle" one but it probably said something like "Google's 11th Birthday". There's no mystery here.
Who even goes to the page anymore?
This literally just proves how stupid some people are. Is it that difficult to hover your mouse over the image and veiw the alt text that states what the reasoning behind the image is? I mean, 95% of the time that's all you have do with their logos.
More pressing, why is this news on a hardware oriented site?
The title or alt text did NOT explain what the double L was for. I saw it and even clicked on the doodle but it didn't go to a page that explained it.
i bet its because people are so stupid they commonly misspell the Google.

At least theirs is not as bad as BigDownload's grammar and spelling.
In leet speak l can represented by the number 1.
In most fonts they are usually only a few pixels different, 1 ,l.
Google had a leet speak language for its homepage, but I am failing at finding the option.

I believe this is what you're looking for? http://www.google.com/intl/xx-hacker/
Seriously though, this stuff is a result of more people finding their way into the magical window of the internet and being stupid as usual.
Doesnt anyone ever hover over the logo? If you just plant your mouse on the logo it tells you whats so special about it being changed every time.

LOL! That was pretty damn funny!

It did when I saw it. Just had to hover over the logo.

lol! That is an awesome first post, too!
It's ok to ask questions, but when the whole cyber world cries OH NOES over the spelling or change of the Google homepage...it's bad. They've changed it around for different things for as long as I can remember. Get over it please
As for the swings taken at THG editors.....they could use some work, it's not unreadable because of grammatical nonsense, but it could definitely use work.(Please and thank you)
I'd rather have articles with some spelling errors, than no articles at all. Of course, my own sppelling is always perfekt
On the logo issue, I like Googlle's sense of humour..makes the world a little bit different, a little bit brighter rather than getting up every morning and seeing the old mundane faces so to speak..one can only imagine what Downing Street's cat must be feel each day.
I was surprised at the first moment that even the giant Google made such an obvious mistake and thought I discovered a big event, but later founded out I was fooled by Google...
People are idiots. If they can't figure out how to click on the logo or hover their cursor over it and a message appears that explains the caption, then I feel bad for humanity. The UFOs were understandable as they didn't really explain it.
The mouseover was there, that's how I knew what it was, people are just dumb.
Who cares? Does it really need people to write articles about it? They have been changing the logo for years, why the sudden interest?
Slow news day?
It might have made sense if H.G Wells had actually wrote about flying saucers. In War of the Worlds his Martians arrived in a kind of capsule which sprouted tripod like mechanical legs. There was no anti-gravity involved. Flying saucers and bell shaped craft can be found in a variety of literary sources including the Hindu Vedas going back thousands of years and even appear in Renaissance paintings. But not in the work of H.G.Wells. Perhaps it was meant to prove no one actually reads books any more lol
It's just more evidence, man. It's the aliens. The aliens. They're infiltrating our government and major corporations, man. They're takin' over the world!
Its how google is number 1, with making tech sites, media, news, average jo, talk and talk about google, million more hits per second etc, and its something that you will only find on google, other corporate site - yahoo/bing/ask, etc, tend to be more business like, whereas with google, you can tell they just dont care about keeping it all business and no play...?
