Bigger, brighter, bolder: 12 Micro RGB and Mini-LED TVs that unlock new levels of color vibrancy
These next generation screens represent a serious upgrade for home theaters
The next generation of TV screen technology is here – and your home entertainment has never looked better. Micro RGB and RGB Mini-LED screens offer bolder images, more accurate colors, and greater visibility than older screens. If you're serious about your home theater, then they're an essential upgrade.
In this article, we've brought together 12 of our favorite sets from four of the brands who are leading the charge with this exciting new technology: Samsung, Sony, Hisense, and TCL. We're also breaking down the technology and why you may want to consider splashing out on an upgrade.
Any one of these screens will be a huge step up from your older TV – and they're all available now at Best Buy.
How do Micro RGB and RGB Mini-LED screens work?
Micro RGB and RGB Mini-LED screens present light in a completely different way to older TVs, which either use self-emitting organic pixels (OLED screens), or a backlight made up of white or blue LEDs with color filters (QLED screens).
Micro RGB screens, however, use dedicated RGB (red, green, blue) LEDs, which enables them to replicate colors with almost perfect accuracy and with high brightness. This is ideal for watching HDR (High Dynamic Range) content, which is increasingly prominent in modern TV, film, and web content. HDR material on a Micro RGB and RGB Mini-LED screen will really pop.
How do they compare to OLED and QLED screens?
OLED and QLED screens excel at contrast, but can struggle to perform in brightly-lit rooms. If you're looking for a TV to put in, say, your living room or a bright kitchen then a Micro RGB or RGB Mini-LED is a great choice.
They also offer better wide-angle viewing than OLED and QLED sets, so everyone will have a better view of the screen – perfect for when you're watching sports, or having a big movie night.
Another added benefit is that there's no risk of screen burn with these next generation sets, something that was a problem with many older screen technologies.
Should I upgrade to a Micro RGB or RGB Mini-LED screen?
Ultimately only you can decide that and OLED and QLED screens remain excellent options. However, Micro RGB or RGB Mini-LED sets are now at the forefront of modern TV technology.
These big and beautiful screens offer truly eye-popping visuals with next generation HDR, stunningly lifelike colors, and an excellent viewing experience even in bright rooms. If you're upgrading your home entertainment set up and want the brightest, most colorful TV possible, then these are the screens for you.
