Following the shutdowns spurred by a once in a lifetime pandemic, more and more people began to take their remote job opportunities on the road by embracing a ‘digital nomad’ lifestyle. They packed up vans, campers, and RVs to travel across the country while keeping their professional lives entirely online. This relatively new workflow came with some interesting hurdles, however, including how to have reliable, long lasting power while on the go. Working remotely still requires connectivity via smartphones and laptops, after all, even when you’re camping lakeside in the wilderness.

Growatt, a leader in the power inverter industry known for their dedication to producing green power sources, has recently made the leap to portable power stations in order to tackle this new energy supply challenge. Recently, Growatt announced the INFINITY 1300 portable power station. Designed to charge from either AC or solar input, the INFINITY 1300 offers a high capacity LiFePO4 battery that charges fully in just 1.8 hours and has a long lifespan that can sustain 3000  charge cycles. In addition to rapid AC charging without the need for an additional adapter, the INFINITY 1300 utilises high efficiency MPPT controllers to fully charge via solar in just 2.5 hours.

The INFINITY 1300 is capable of discharging up to 1800W of power throughout its 14 different outputs, including USB A and USB C charging parts and standard power outlets. It is perfectly capable of powering small appliances for cooking, charging laptops, and even game consoles. The INFINITY 1300 also supports wireless charging for compatible smartphones and other mobile devices. This small but mighty generator weighs less than 40 pounds for ease of use and portability without cutting corners with regard to power output.

Van lifers and campers aren’t the only ones who can benefit from the stability of a green power source, however. The INFINITY 1300 can serve as a power pass through, charging up the battery while still powering important devices like life saving medical equipment. In the event of a power outage, the INFINITY 1300 supports an Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) feature and converts to battery in less than 20 milliseconds—effectively preventing medical emergencies. A 60W CPAP machine can be powered by the INFINITY 1300 for up to 19 hours on a single charge.

In addition to providing a UPS feature, the INFINITY series of portable power stations can provide safe, clean energy during natural disasters and other power emergencies. With inclement weather causing strains on power grids globally, there have been instances where people have lost their lives after attempting to power their homes by using gas powered generators in an enclosed space. Solar powered battery backups like the INFINITY 1300 do not carry the same risk as gas powered generators, as there are no exhaust fumes. Additionally, having a reliable backup generator can reduce the need to rely on a struggling power grid during an emergency or be charged entirely via solar input if the grid goes down. The 1300 can safely power small appliances for cooking, space heaters, or small air conditioning units in a disaster scenario.

Growatt’s mission is to provide green, sustainable power alternatives to suit a plethora of needs. The company was founded in 2011 to provide residential energy storage solutions and they have continued to innovate and grow to provide sustainable power sources to more than 180 countries and regions. Additional information regarding Growatt’s products can be found on their website. The Growatt INFINITY 1300 will be available for presale beginning April 17 and lasting until April 30 with a preorder discount during the presale making the price just $999 down from the expected $1299.
