Dell makes some of the best laptops we've tested. Whether you're looking for a powerful gaming rig or a mainstream machine that does it all — the PC manufacturer has plenty of hits under its belt. The new Dell 14S joins that list and right now it's on sale.

For a limited time, you can get the Dell 14S for $1,279 at Dell. That's $120 off its list price and one of the best laptop deals I've seen this week.

With more of us working from home and needing a laptop that moves around with us, the need for a powerful and portable laptop has never been more important. One of the best in this category is the Dell 14S, which features an Intel Core Ultra 5-322 CPU, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD. There's also an abundance of ports and a 14-inch 1920 x 1200 display. There's a lot to love and it all comes at a great price.

The Dell 14S packs a lot of cool tech under its hood. It starts with the Intel Core Ultra 5-322 CPU. That's accompanied by 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD. The cherry on top is the 14-inch 1920 x 1200 display. You can upgrade to an OLED display, which we recommend if you have the budget.

In our Dell 14S 2026 review, we said the Dell 14S is essentially a Dell XPS-Lite that delivers numerous premium features at a mid-range price. The RAM crisis has caused the price of this laptop to increase, so we really recommend purchasing it when it's on sale to maximize your budget.

Our review unit came with an Intel Core Ultra 7 355, and while it’s not a powerhouse, it will crush most people's typical workloads. We drowned our unit in Chrome tabs and then ran a 4K YouTube video in the background. The machine didn't even hiccup. We then did some some light photo edits in Photoshop and Lightroom and it was a similarly smooth experience.

As long as you're not a hardcore PC gamer, this laptop should meet all your needs and then some. Best of all, it won't totally break your budget like Dell's pricier XPS line.
