Thanks to the ongoing RAM crisis, finding a gaming laptop featuring a good amount of memory and that’s relatively inexpensive can be tough. I’m always seeking the best deals for you all, and today, I found one that ticks two major checkboxes.
Right now, the HP Omen 16 is on sale at Best Buy for $1,149. That’s a cool $430 off a gaming laptop packing a sizeable 32GB of RAM! I haven’t reviewed this specific unit, but I can vouch for the quality of HP Omen laptops and can guarantee you’ll have a good time using this notebook for gaming and everyday tasks.
This HP Omen 16 delivers plenty of power in an elegant design. Inside, it packs an AMD Ryzen 9 CPU, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 GPU, 1TB of SSD storage, and a generous 32GB of RAM. It also has a 16-inch 1920 x 1200 display and plenty of ports. This is an excellent machine for beating the blues of the RAM crisis.
Let’s start with the thing you’ll be staring at the most — the display. At 16 inches, you get plenty of space to comfortably view whatever game you’re playing. That’s especially true thanks to the sharp 1920 x 1200 resolution. The 144Hz refresh rate also ensures everything runs smoothly.
Inside, this HP Omen 16 packs an AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX CPU, which is a high-end flagship mobile CPU. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 isn’t high-end, but enabling the frame and resolution-boosting DLSS 4 can substantially improve frame rates and visuals. And of course, I have to remind you that you get 32GB of DDR5 RAM here. Given the current state of things, that’s a great amount for the price you’re paying.
All of that comes in an elegant machine that doesn’t look like a typical gaming laptop. The Shadow Black color is quite lovely. At 14 x 10.5 x 5.4 inches and 5.4 pounds, this is a decidedly big and heavy laptop, so keep that in mind when you plan to take it on the road. Thankfully, you get plenty of ports, including three USB-A, one USB-C (with power delivery), an HDMI 2.1 port, and an Ethernet port.
For its low price and generous amount of RAM, this HP Omen 16 deal is hard to pass up. Act now before you miss your chance!
