After a whole year of testing audio gear, I’ve listened to my fair share of the best Bluetooth speakers, from expensive flagship models to budget-friendly boomers. And one thing I’ve learned is that the price you pay doesn’t necessarily dictate how good the sound quality is going to be, and the prices are better than ever this President's Day weekend.
While I’ve listened to some speakers that made me truly hate music (for about ten minutes), these are the ones that I would spend my money on. These span from audiophile winners to rugged speakers perfect for the outdoors. My favorite under $30 is the Tribit PocketGo Speaker for $19 at Amazon. It's my go-to speaker for everything from outdoor adventures to my shower playlist.
Likewise, the Edifier ES20 Speaker for $76 at Amazon is a solid pick. (Make sure to click the digital on-page coupon to get this price). Despite its small size, it give off huge sound and it can even be paired if you have multiple speakers.
I’m a firm believer that everyone should have a good quality speaker to take on the elements as well as a great at-home speaker. These portable speakers are ideal for at home or out and about, and pack a total punch in the sound department. (For more deals, check out our guide to the best Presidents' Day sales).
Best Under $30: Tribit PocketGo

The Tribit PocketGo will be your new best friend. For less than $30, this Bluetooth speaker packs one heck of a punch in the sound department, and with some very minor EQ adjustments in the Tribit app, it quickly became my go-to speaker for everything from outdoor adventures to my shower playlist.
On top of that, it’s the ultimate rugged speaker. Its IP68 waterproofing and military-grade drop protection make it perfect for long hikes in unpredictable weather. And I do mean long hikes because the speaker has a total battery life of 20 hours, making it ideal for a weekend camping trip.
Retro Chic: Marshall Acton III

The Marshall Acton III is a retro-looking Bluetooth speaker that's can actually make your setup feel more modern. The physical controls and tactile and satisfying, making sure it's easy for you to get the sound you want.
It needs to be plugged into the wall to work, but that doesn't stop it from producing some of the best sound on the market. And with $100 off for Presidents' Day, this is a total steal right now.
Thanks to its large cabinet size and quality audio engineering inside, it's hard to be disappointed in the Acton. The bass is also super responsive, making it a top-tier choice for parties.
Best All Around: JBL Flip 7

The Flip series from JBL has long been a favorite of mine. They always seem to nail the sound while keeping the size suitably portable. And the JBL Flip 7 is no exception to that rule. You can also choose from seven colors, so this speaker becomes a real statement.
This speaker can last you up to 16 hours between charges, so this compact speaker packs a lot of juice. But the sound quality will win you over here. The vocals and trebles are detailed and clean, while the bass offers plenty of that famous JBL oomph.
It’s also pretty rugged, with the ability to survive against sand, dirt and water.
Best for hiking: JBL Go 4

The JBL Go 4 is a decent portable Bluetooth speaker for anyone on a budget that still wants decent levels of sound.
It's small enough to take traveling, and will asily clip on the outside of your bag to soundtrack hikes. The IP67 water and dust protection rating, mean it can also withstand pretty much any weather condition thrown at it.
It can also provide decent sound for small gatherings, and multi-point connectivity means you can share soundtracking duties.
Bonkers Battery Life: Marshall Kilburn III

The Marshall Kilburn III isn’t just a pretty face — it’s a powerhouse of sound quality. The battery life is totally impressive, and the on-device time controls make keeping the music going easier than anything else.
This is one of the best-looking speakers out there, but that’s no surprise given that this is a Marshall speaker. But what really wins me over? The epic 50-hour battery life. This speaker can literally last me weeks without needing to charge it up.
It produces sound with epic bass, perfect for listening to the likes of Charli XCX, and that makes it something of a party monster. You’re never going to be let down by the sound here.
