More bang for your buck.
Game console platform holders see the holiday season as a massive opportunity to grow their installed base. But with all three companies having recently announced price drops, cutting the price of the machine isn't an immediate option.
Microsoft's answer to this is to bundle free games into the package. For the same $299 that the Xbox 360 Elite was selling for over the last month, you can now get the very same but with two free games!
Those two games are “LEGO Batman: The Videogame” and “PURE,” which to us sounds like sensible, safe choices for families getting an Xbox 360 this year.
LEGO Batman can't truly be experienced solo, so people will need a second controller. Microsoft is also putting together a special bundle for the wireless controller.
The new bundle includes a black wireless controller along with four Xbox Live Arcade games including, “Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2,” “Lumines LIVE!,” “Bomberman LIVE!,” and “Ms Pac-Man.” That package will run for $59.99.

Big deal. They are throwing in 2 games that are on the clearance racks at retail stores now for only $20 each.
I am struggling to find any thing "New" in this news at all. At least it was a short waste of time.
The real question is, when are we going to be seeing (or at least, hearing some buzz) new consoles? The 360 is the most dated console of the three, and the Wii doesn't even off HDMI or true HD resolutions. There is plenty of room for improvement in consoles... so let's get with it already.
And while their add it... how about building some expanability into the damn thing. Have an available SIMM port or two behind a screw plate, give us the ability to switch out existing drives (with standard SATA drives, not ones epoxied into their proprietary mounting). There are so many ways they could do this and yet still retain control of the console. Plus, it would give them something to market while they were in between console models.

I thought there was going to be a new 360 console and a new 360 controller by reading the title. Couldn't we just say "New super-duper kiddie friendly Xbox 360 bundle coming this Holiday" instead?
Its just a new combo deal with the existing Elite: A console, 2 clearance-priced games, and one controller. MSFT has always had a combo deal like this. Last time I believe it was with the Pro and the Kung-Fu-Panda game. I bet this new combo pack won't include any HD cables (component/HDMI).

Besides the 360 wheel is actually pretty good. It isn't the same caliber as a high-end PC wheel, but it's pretty good. Forza isn't currently available for PS3, and the people who play it seriously on the 360 use a wheel.

1. I am not a fan boy.
2. I said CONTROLLERS not a game pad. Meaning wheels etc.
3. The wheel for the xbox, I knew about that but it is a sorry excuse of a wheel.
4. As far as english. Neither of us seems to have an issue with english. But typing is always a bit more challenging. I get what you meant previously now.
5. xbox 360 controller are still limit to thumb controller until they get controllers similar to the quality of a PC and PS3. I am impressed with the PS3 controller but I don't like any consoles.
